Acetic Acid 0.6% — Research Grade Diluent
Acetic Acid 0.6% is a sterile aqueous diluent used to reconstitute lyophilised research compounds that require acidic conditions and dissolve poorly in neutral water. Ascend Research supplies it in 3ml vials, dispatched from within Australia for laboratory use only.

Research Context
Some peptides — particularly larger or hydrophobic sequences such as IGF-1 LR3 — dissolve poorly in neutral aqueous solution. A dilute acetic acid diluent lowers the pH sufficiently to bring these compounds into solution. It contains no preservative, so unlike bacteriostatic water it is not intended for repeated entry.
Handling
Store at room temperature, away from direct light. Swab the stopper before entry. Do not use if the solution is discoloured or contains visible particulates. Check the requirements of the specific compound before selecting a diluent.
What's Included
- One sterile vial (3ml)
- Protective packaging
Frequently Asked Questions
When should acetic acid be used instead of bacteriostatic water?
When a compound requires acidic conditions to dissolve — typically larger or more hydrophobic peptides such as IGF-1 LR3.
Does it contain a preservative?
No. Unlike bacteriostatic water, it contains no benzyl alcohol and is not intended for repeated entry.
What concentration is supplied?
0.6% acetic acid in sterile water.
Does it need refrigeration?
No. Store at room temperature, 20–25°C.
Where does Ascend Research ship from?
Orders are dispatched from within Australia.
